3M DI-NOC Architectural Wraps

Architectural Wraps Florida is the commercial architectural-finish site for Trim My Crib™ Commercial — the same Venice, FL team at Trim My Crib LLC that scopes and installs these projects. Explore Trim My Crib™ Commercial.

What 3M says DI-NOC offers (from 3M's published pages/data sheet)

  • 900+ patterns — wood, metal, stone, concrete, leather, abstract, solids.
  • Applications — walls, columns, doors, cabinets; metal, wood, interior glass; complex curved (3D) surfaces.
  • Remodel and reuse — 3M says it "shortens refurbishment downtime" and brings new designs to existing assets.
  • Less disruption — 3M markets "quick and easy installation with less downtime, noise and disruption."
  • Cost positioning — 3M describes it as "more cost effective versus traditional construction materials." Actual savings vary by project; we don't promise a specific saving.
  • Maintenance — resistant to common stains, cleaners and disinfectants; easy to clean (per 3M).
  • Expected performance life — 3M’s March 2024 DI-NOC technical data sheet lists an expected performance life of 12 years for indoor, vertical applications. This is a product expectation, not a warranty or a promise for every installation; actual performance depends on the product, surface, installation, environment and care. Ask for the applicable product and project warranty terms.
  • Emissions — 3M states the products were tested to CDPH Standard Method V1.1-2010 / V1.2-2017 General Emissions Evaluation. LEED credit applicability is the project team's responsibility (3M's note).
  • Fire performance — 3M publishes fire-test data by series (most patterns listed ASTM E84 Class A per 3M's fire-rating information). Confirm the exact pattern, substrate, and listing with your design professional and local authority.

Not wallpaper, not a car wrap

DI-NOC is related to other self-adhesive decorative films, including vehicle wraps, but it is a separate architectural product line and is not interchangeable with them. Unlike most wallcoverings, it is designed for doors, cabinets, millwork and columns as well as walls. Quality commercial wallcoverings remain a good choice for many walls. Side-by-side considerations

Factor Remodel/replace DI-NOC refacing
Existing material Removed Reused if sound
Waste Demolition debris Primarily film offcuts/liners
Trades Possibly carpentry, painting, countertops, electrical Usually a single film-installation crew
Business continuity Areas often closed Staged/off-hours work may allow operations to continue, subject to site survey, safety, and property requirements
Design change Unlimited, at material cost Large pattern library; shape/layout unchanged

Limitations (read before you decide)

  • It changes the finish, not the shape. Layout, function, and broken hardware aren't fixed by film.
  • Substrate condition matters. Water damage, delamination, deep gouges, and failing surfaces must be repaired first.
  • Not for every environment. Heat sources, constant standing water, and heavy-abrasion floors are poor fits for standard DI-NOC.
  • Code-sensitive areas (fire-rated doors, egress corridors, elevators) need product/series confirmation and approval by the authority having jurisdiction.
  • Impact damage — film can be cut or punctured; damaged sections may need replacement.
  • Not a food-contact surface and we make no health-code claims.
  • Warranties depend on the specific product, application, and installer terms — get them in writing for your project.
